Starling Literary + Media is actively looking to build our client list. Thank you for considering us!

The Power of Story
We believe that literature creates an intimate relationship between author and reader, one that allows us to experience the world through perspectives different from our own. These diverse narratives open our minds to new possibilities, fostering greater empathy and understanding—human connection that is needed now more than ever.
At Starling Literary + Media, our goal is to make these stories accessible to readers around the world, and we are honored to champion their fearless creators. While each voice is distinct, we’re part of something larger than ourselves. Our work is rooted in collaboration, combining strategy and creativity to ensure our clients’ careers soar.
Our Guidelines
ONE AGENT AT A TIME
Please query one Starling agent at a time and only via the agent's query form. We encourage you to look at our bios to see which of us feels like the best fit for you and your projects, but don’t worry about making a wrong choice. The beauty of being a small agency is that we are very collaborative and constantly share work. If we think your project would be a better fit for another agent, we will pass it to them. Our goal is to help you find the right Starling agent for you.
A PASS FROM ONE IS A PASS FROM ALL
Because we are such a collaborative agency, a pass from one agent is considered a pass on that specific project from all of Starling.

We welcome the opportunity to review new submissions or significant revisions. You can either query the same agent or a different agent with your new project.
REVISIONS ARE MAGICAL
If you have significantly revised your manuscript, we are happy to reconsider the query. Please wait at least 3 months to submit the work to any Starling agent.

Please add "revised" in the title field of your query form, and let us know how you've reimagined the project at the top of your letter.
