Tracy Bishop

Tracy Nishimura Bishop is a San Francisco Bay Area based illustrator who loves creating diverse characters that readers can connect with. She has illustrated more than 50 picture books, chapter books, and middle grade titles, primarily working digitally while also enjoying watercolor, ink, and colored pencils. A fourth-generation Japanese American, Tracy was raised on a U.S. Army base outside of Tokyo, where she discovered her love of art through manga and anime. She returned to the United States with a gigantic manga collection and an even bigger obsession with drawing, which led her to study illustration at San José State University. When she is not drawing, Tracy enjoys collecting fancy pens, knitting, and reading on the couch with her miniature schnauzer mix.
