Michelle Jing Chan

Michelle Jing Chan is a queer Chinese American author-illustrator who studied engineering and economics, but now spends her days creating stories. Inspired by cultural folklore, all things spooky, and queer joy, Michelle gravitates towards stories that celebrate diversity and self-acceptance. Her books have earned awards from the Children’s Book Council, the Chinese American Librarians Association, King County Libraries, and Hindi’s Libraries. When she’s not hunched over her desk, you can find Michelle playing with the neighborhood cats, browsing local thrift shops, or hunting for ghosts and cryptids in video games.
